Jared's Job Update
Jared likes his new job as a Property Appraiser for the county; he's been there a month now. He trained in Paradise (about 20 minutes east) for a month, then moved to the Chico office. He appraises houses for tax purposes. He gets to work out of the Chico office, even though the county seat is in Oroville, about 30 minutes south. He may creep up on your house and snap a photo. He has a badge. After 6 months he can start work early and get a Friday off, every other week. He has a 4 minute commute by car to work every day. He may or may not ride his bike. It turns out I went to high school with the wife of his co-worker, same graduation class too, but we didn't know each other in high school.

Dino Wall Stickers
Our new apartment is kind of lacking in the decoration department, and Luke's room was a great abyss of nothing to look at but white walls. So I got some dinosaur stickers for his walls from Target. Jared and I surprised Luke with it. He said "wow this is for me?" and stared at it for awhile. He liked it.

What Age 3 Is Like
If anyone wonders (or has forgotten) what having a 3 year old is like, let me show you...there's loud roaring, devious laughing, and burping.

First Smiles and Laughs
Henry is 2 months old here. He has just started smiling and laughing for the first time. And we are happy too, because he's just started sleeping through the night! Sleeps from 8pm to 7am without needing a feeding. I'm so glad to get some sleep again.

Luke's 3rd Birthday
I wanted Luke to wake up and be surprised first thing in the morning on his birthday, so Tuesday night after Luke went to bed, Jared and I decorated the house with balloons and streamers. In the morning he woke up and was so happy and excited to see all the stuff was for him.
That day we opened presents, had friends come over, ate pizza + cake, and had a pinata.
It was Luke's first pinata and first cake (he could eat). We never really celebrated Luke's birthday before age 3 for a couple reasons: 1) he doesn't need to eat sugar before age two 2) he wasn't going to remember it 3) we're broke 4) we lived in another state where none of our family and friends lived. Anyway, Luke had a great 3rd birthday and we had a great time celebrating it with him.
