Luke's 4th Birthday

Luke had his 4th birthday on December 5th, and we had a fun day. We started off decorating the living room and hallway with balloons and streamers the night before, so on his birthday he would see them when he woke up in the morning. Then I gave him a birthday hat and birthday t-shirt to wear for the day. I made the shirt on my computer then printed it and ironed it on. He loves Curious George so we went with that and the shirt said "today is my 4th birthday". He REALLY liked it! Then we had breakfast with a birthday candle in it for him to blow out, went to the park, we decorated his cake together (I did the frosting & letters, Luke did the candles & sprinkles), and opened presents throughout the day. At night we had pizza and salad while Jared's family came over to celebrate and open more presents.

Recently...

Hi all! I have a lot of pics that I haven't posted recently, so here you go. There's captions below most pics describing the pic. Remember if you can't see something in email, you can always visit our blog: http://theschoolings.blogspot.com/

We started juicing vegetables (in addition to eating them of course) and I must say, we both feel better, gave up coffee, think clearer, are losing weight, and my facial acne is gone (maybe that's too much info, but I've had it for a long time and it's always been annoying and painful). We got a used Jack Lalanne juicer off craigslist to see if we'd like all the juicing, and we like it so much we upgraded to a new Hurom juicer which is awesome. I am able to even make almond milk with it, which I did today. We upgraded the juicer because we wanted a masticating juicer instead of a centrifugal one. We highly recommend it!

Going for a walk, looking for bugs for Luke.

Jared and I went on a date night at Sierra Nevada Brewery and got some beer samplers. Our favorite was Bigfoot Barleywine-style Ale.

I had fun spray painting a mirror frame.
Carving Halloween pumpkins
For Halloween Jared was a knight, I was a fairy, Luke was a G.I. Joe called Snake Eyes or something, and Henry was a cute little elephant. Hopefully next year we'll all match and be The Flintstones family or something. We took Luke trick or treating with some friends from church. The cute little 1.5 yr old girl in the bottom left corner is dressed as Cruela DeVille from 101 Dalmations.

Playday @ the mall with Leslie and friends and lots of 1 year olds; we get together once a month for a playday.

The girl I've always wanted!

Leslie + Jimmy had their baby girl Violet Gloria Faggard 11/2/13. I'm an aunt of 2 now! Micah (1.5 yrs old) + Violet.

We started juicing vegetables & minimal fruits and love it! Here Luke is helping make a carrot + oranges drink.

The paparazzi. He follows us everywhere taking pictures, from the minute he wakes up in the morning, which means I get my picture taken every morning when I wake up.

Our mean green juice we love to drink everyday (kale, spinach, broccoli, celery, cucumber, apples, lemon, ginger root)

Happy 1st Birthday Henry

It was 2:30pm last year today when we were looking at this scrunchy little face after he came into the world. Can't believe how fast the time goes.

Here are pics from the party:

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a local pumpkin patch with the boys and Grandma Kathy. There was a 20 acre corn maze, barn animals, hay slide, corn (sand) boxes, and pumpkins. We had a lot of fun. It was Luke's first time in a corn maze. When we'd get to a dead-end he'd say "where are we?!"
